Marvel Rivals hit 40 million players, scooped up a Grand Award at the PlayStation Partner Awards, and managed to build a Discord community of 4.1 million members — all in its first year. NetEase clearly isn’t slowing down, because the roadmap for Season 7 (expected mid-March 2026) is already leaking through in-game teasers and datamines. If you’re playing ranked and trying to figure out which Marvel Rivals characters are strongest right now, understanding what’s coming helps you prepare for the next meta shift.

Here’s everything confirmed, teased, and rumored about Season 7.

Season 6.5 First: Elsa Bloodstone Arrives February 13

Before we get to Season 7, there’s the mid-season update to cover. Season 6.5 launches Friday, February 13, 2026, and introduces Elsa Bloodstone as a new Duelist hero. She’ll be available to unlock immediately upon release — no currency gating, no progressive unlock. The update runs through March 20, which means Season 7 kicks off right after.^[1]

Elsa slots into the Duelist role, which already has competition from Spider-Man, Squirrel Girl, and Black Panther. Her kit isn’t fully detailed yet, but based on her Monster Hunter background, expect ranged damage with supernatural ammunition — likely a mid-range specialist rather than a pure flanker. For ranked purposes, the best Duelists in Marvel Rivals are about to get a new contender.

Black Cat and White Fox: Season 7’s New Heroes

The “Monsters Take Manhattan” gallery card in the current Battle Pass is the strongest hint. It shows a black cat and a white fox flanking Deadpool — and in a game that names its heroes after their literal comic identities, that’s about as subtle as a billboard.^[2]

Black Cat (Felicia Hardy) was also spotted on a wanted poster within the Times Square map, and dataminer leaks from as far back as April 2025 revealed White Fox (Ami Han) in the game files.

Black Cat — Predicted Kit

Community analysis predicts Black Cat as a high-mobility assassin or Duelist. Her comic abilities translate naturally into gameplay mechanics:

• A grappling hook for rapid vertical movement (think Spider-Man’s webslinger but with more precision targeting)
• “Luck manipulation” abilities that could cause enemy projectiles to miss or deal reduced damage — essentially a 15-20% dodge/evasion buff that rewards aggressive positioning
• Burst damage from close range with clawed attacks

White Fox — Predicted Kit

White Fox is expected to be the game’s first Melee Strategist — a support hero that heals through attacking. Her Kumiho physiology gives her superhuman agility and lethal claws, and the predicted kit centers on:

• Aggressive frontline support with close-range combat
• Life-steal effect on nearby allies based on her attack damage — the more she fights, the more her team heals
• Transformative abilities tied to her nine-tailed fox heritage

If both heroes ship as predicted, Season 7 would add a flanking Duelist and a melee healer — two archetypes that Marvel Rivals currently doesn’t have in their exact form. The best Marvel Rivals characters for beginners could see a shakeup if White Fox’s kit is as intuitive as it sounds.

Monsters Take Manhattan: Kingpin as the Season 7 Villain

The narrative framing for Season 7 revolves around Wilson Fisk — Kingpin — who is positioned as the Mayor of New York in Marvel Rivals’ storyline. According to leaks and story teasers, Kingpin is enforcing a city-wide lockdown and hoarding Chronovium (the game’s multiverse energy source) to amass an army of monsters.

This “Monsters Take Manhattan” theme implies:

• New maps set in vertical New York City environments with destructible elements
• A PvE or limited-time event mode featuring monster waves tied to Kingpin’s army
• Potential street-level brawling maps that force close-quarters combat — a significant departure from the game’s current mix of open and semi-enclosed arenas

Whether Kingpin himself becomes a playable hero is unclear. His archetype (massive physical bruiser with no superpowers) fits the Vanguard role, but NetEase hasn’t released non-super characters before. He may function as a PvE boss or narrative antagonist instead.

What This Means for the Current Meta

If Black Cat is a high-mobility Duelist and White Fox is a melee Strategist, the current tank-heavy meta could see a major disruption. Melee Strategists would need to stand near their team to provide healing, which means compositions would shift toward brawl-heavy playstyles rather than the current poke-and-kite strategies that dominate higher ranks.

For now, the priority is Season 6.5 and figuring out where Elsa Bloodstone fits. Season 7 arrives around March 20 — plenty of time to grind ranked and position yourself for the meta shift.
